Flower flies a.k.a. hoverflies can almost always be found around flowers. They are capable of hovering around flowers, and are really quite entertaining.
I have heard people express the opinion that hoverflies pollenate some of the grasses that are normally thought of as wind pollenated. I have no opinion on that myself.
The young of these flies are reported to feed on aphids. That is another thing I have yet to see for myself.
